Celebrating the Ancestors, the Elements, the Earth, Nature and the spirits of the land, the Elemental Dreaming Festival is a way for people of like mind to come together and share their gifts, talents and wares over two full days.

The Elements
The four seasons govern much of our life – symbolically, spiritually, physically and even emotionally. The seasons are nature’s timepiece. They mark the moment we enter the World and will again when we shed our robes and leave. They represent every aspect of our journey through the great Wheel of Life, while also governing the four directions, the elements and even the guardian spirits that protect them.
Ancient Earth wisdom demonstrates the understanding of how we relate to all things. Their teachings depict all things as living, deserving equal respect, even those things we might see as inanimate or invisible, due to the belief that everything was ultimately created from the One Source. The sacred understanding that Spirit lives within all things of nature sits at the core of Ancient belief with life viewed as a great wheel, developed around the ancient symbol of the circle with the cross at the centre; a cross that forms the spokes that divide our lives into four main growth stages. The paths within represent our life on earth and the paths of our Ancestors. Each of the four directions, starting with the east, represents a season, and with each comes the teachings of the corresponding elements, minerals, plants and animals, as well as various mystical creatures and spirit beings that govern them. Beginning with new life in the spring and the element air, to the height of fullness and energy in summer and the element fire, from the inward contemplative energy of autumn and the element water, to winter’s wisdom of old age and the element earth, and finally to when we pass over and begin life once again in the east, it can be said that the seasons aim to remind us of our mortality and our immortality while instilling within each of us a greater understanding of Mother Earth and the forces of nature that inspire us every day.
The Festival
Would you be interested in attending / performing at / taking a stand at the inaugoral ELEMENTAL DREAMING FESTIVAL, scheduled for the 11th and 12th of January, 2014 to be held in Gladysdale, nestled in Victoria's beautiful Yarra Valley?
Roz Tilley from Sacred8 Ceremonies and Scott Alexander King from Animal Dreaming have decided to organise such an event, with plans for live performers, 'wandering minstrels', workshops, talks, tarot readers and the like. The theme 'Elemental Dreaming' incorporates many things, including faeries, angels, dragons, water sprites, mermaids, gnomes, Spirit, and the elements themselves: air, fire, water, earth and aether.
So, if you think you fit into any of these 'baskets', and you have something to offer, contact either Roz or myself and one of us will be in touch with details (in the near future). We are also looking for people to demonstrate wool spinning, felt making, basket weaving, and similar traditional crafts, as well as jugglers, fire twirlers and dancers and similarly gifted folk. So, please make contact if these sorts of things describe what you do.
